Welcome to my studio!
Franziska is a German born visual artist working and living in Sale, Greater Manchester. A self-confessed linguaphile & art enthusiast she trained in Art Education and English Studies (University of Leipzig, Germany). She feels happiest working in a variety of techniques, mainly painting, drawing and printing with watercolours and ink as her preferred media.
Some of her recent artistic highlights were exhibiting at the Altrincham College of Arts (2018), at the Waterside Open in Sale (2018), in the first ever Manchester Open Exhibition (2020) at HOME as well as taking part in the Art All Dayer fairs organised by Cotton on MCR in the stunning Hallé St Peter’s in Manchester.
Being asked to describe her process, she says “Since childhood, I’ve loved losing myself in a daydream which is exactly what my (mostly abstract) painting and drawing allows me to do - expressing myself without the need to be concise or coherent”. Music or certain words and phrases often spark some initial gestures on paper. Whilst this first step is done in rapid and intuitive movements, the following marks are executed with greater thought.
